How the method assess clinker quality?
Simply Mr Yoshio Ono the founder describes the main parameters;
- burning rate, rate of heat from calcination to burning zone 850-1450C, the parameter is expressed by alite size, optimum at 20-30 microns.
- birefringence, max temperature that clinker accept at burning zone, optimum at 0.007-0.010.
- burning time, express by belite size is the time length meal at max temperature, optimum at 20-25 microns.
- cooling rate that expressed by belite color is the rate of decreasing temperature from max temperature to 1200C, optimum at clear cooler.

Ono parameters are very important basic method.

Konesksi 3G

Sekarang ini saya konek ke internet selalu pakai 3G dengan simcard Mentari durasi.
Kali ini saya coba pakai setting (connection properties > configure > maximum speed> pilih paling besar 921600 hasilnya di tray jadi 921.6 Kbps, terus di test dengan bandwith meter lumayan dapat 247.4 - 285 kbps

I tried to enjoy my daily job, forget rutinity by doing some product developments,
Get sweat at 19oC. Week end is the most I wait for, play 'games' with my kids.
It's not easy to get some original idea while my new team still struggle with more training!!!
Last week this 'modem' phone was ringing, caller offer me to talk about the clinker microscopy. the venue is over sea, with high earthquake occurance (this week 6.6 on Richter scale) many people death, injury. Hopefully save and sound when being there.

Clinker Samples

My team has recieve external sample from several company here are some report examples;



is a hard brown core clinker that is hard to be broken by steel hammer. Hard brown clinker is usually produced by long strong flame with a high temperature at kiln inlet (higher than calcination temp). Hard clinker will reduce finish mill productivity due to its low grindability.

Microscopic analysis can provide information of material quality and controlling for analysis of raw material/raw-mix analysis such as;

• estimation of burn ability,
• mineralogy,
• chemistry of size fractions and individual phases,
• efficiency of grinding and
• homogenization processes

The other information from Clinker and Cement examination by microscopic analysis can provide

• the detail information regarding temperature profile; calcining and burning zones of kiln; rate of heating, max temperature, retention time and rate of cooling.
• Accurate investigation in clinker mineralogy can estimate cement performance better.

Prediction of cement performance also can be determined earlier such as

• grinding potential efficiency, potential strength gain and

Impact on additional mineral component on cement such as limestone & fly ash.

Laptop Lenovo 3000 N100 ini juga paling murah tahun 2007 dengan core duo 1.73 GHz, ram diupgrade jadi 1.5 GB (review and tanya jawab ada di lenovo.com)
Sofware modem pastinya bawaan Nokia PC suite v6.83 (kalau ada yang lebih bagus tolong share yaa..)
Kabel USB bawaan Nokia yang lainnya pernah dicoba bawaan kamera dan TV tuner sama aja gak ngaruh (tapi bukan yang di warjam/15 ribuan, yang ini belum pernah nyoba deh!).
Setelah laptop nyala dan kabel koneksi terdeteksi mulailah
Pertama nyari info dulu pake telkomnetinstan buat setting masing-masing kartu banyak yang jelasin tapi satu is the best lah punyanya cahyodwi.com komplit gak misah-misah di web masing-masing malah gak up to date apalagi tarifnya
Kartu sim simpati pede, 3, xl, mentari dan IM3, sebagai kelinci percobaan (atau aku yang jadi kelinci percobaan teknologi susah jelasinnya).
Simpati biasa cuma test 5 menit abis katanya mahal, pas dilihat muahal buanget dah pas ama webnya yang bilang Rp 12/kb. Jadi total kb di log hp dilihat pulsa sebelum dan sesudah ngenet dikurangi, nyoba flash gak nyambung meneng bae, cicing, pernah nyeting N70punya bos jalan browsernya cuma gak ada pulsanya jadi gak bisa pilih paket deh. Gak milih ini deh buat internetan, 3G kedetek hamper full bar sinyalnya.
3 setelah set sesuai websitenya. Hasilnya 3 pulsa bawaan ceban abis 3 menit gak jelas kenapa (mahal pasti), sinyal sih ada bagus. Gak jadi pilihan kemahalan dah.
Xl susah sih daftar ke 4444, gagal total nyoba 3G pake ini sim card. Petunjuk ketemu koq gak mempan. Ya udah hilang dah duitku. Nyoba koq repot ya…xl kumaha yeuh sms telepon gak bisa tuh.
IM3 sesudah daftar ke 4444 (gampang banget gak kayak xl), set OTA buat gprs dan 3G langsung coba ngenet pake hp lancer cek pulsa pas iklan 1kb 1 rupiah, murah deh. Coba pake laptop, tancep buka detik, google koq diem aja setelah beberapa menit di tray kb ditotal diem juga, eh pas cek pulsa tinggal Rp 84. Dihitung-hitung sama juga Rp 1/kb gak boong daah. Cuma mesti beli pulsa buat cek yang durasi per menit bukan volume base. Gak sempet keluar rumah hujan terus Bogor!
Mentari daftar gampang tapi setting 3G, gprs OTA mentok jadi pake saran CahyoDwi dan nyontek IM3 (sodara khan). Lancer ngenet pake hp, hitung-hitung sama Rp 1/kb.
Dicoba gprs volume base pake laptop hasilnya sama.
Coba pake durasi (isi dulu pulsa lewat internet banking! Sukses!) tinggal seceng. Jadilah ngenet setelah beberapa lama kira-kira 2 jam cek pulsa Cuma kurang beberapa ribu saja. Terus dihitung pake log-nya hp total waktu 38 menit (padahal konek 2 jam, idle gak dihitung!) volume 21Mb duitnya berkurang Rp 3500, kalau pake volume base harusnnya Rp 21rb dong. Jadi kalau mau time base lebih murah yaa.

Saran bukan iklan pakelah indosat kalau buat ngenet timebase pake kartu sim prabayar. Mau coba yang lain ntar gajian bulan depan! kantong bisa jebol buat pulsa dan kartu(gratis kecuali xl yang gak function well).
Tapi kalau cuma buat ngenet bukan buat download and bukan malem minggu cukup pake telkomnetinstan (itu kalau punya telepon rumah) tapi kalau punya hp yang bisa jadi modem pakai mentari atau IM3 durasi cukup bagus. kadang dapat tanda 3.5G di hp saat transfer data menandakan layanan 3.5G indosat tersedia.

Sell to Russia?

One week after visiting Sulawesi we had guests from Russia for well cement. The company planned to sell this type of cement from Russia to Australia. 2 Russian guys are manager for well cement and Russia government professor. First day was sampling the cement at silo, plant tour.
The second day testing! My heart was beating faster (than usual, government of Russia).
Testing witness was good and also the result.
On wrap up the professor was surprised by the tester ability, he said never happen before the tester was not nervous and work as professional.
He also suggested us to have a laser Particle size distribution that always postponed since 2004
Yes the audit was successful and we can sell the product as the certificate publish

New Standard

This story should be before visit Sulawesi. The company has been requested to sell the product in Europe, before that happen we should pass EN requirement called CE marking.
The buyer company sent an auditor for this marking project (costly as €250000),
1st day was procedures and system. Second day testing equipment, discussion, plant tour and wrap up.
This standard very detail and strict not so easy to fulfill.

Trips to Sulawesi

The story continued…..
The driver said that the strikes were over on Saturday, aaah good! we were in the right time for business (?). At the hotel after check in and put language in the room, we went out to find original Makasar food, my brother (his wife from here) suggested us Konro, Palubasa, Kikil soup, coto Makasar, so we visited the Mall close to the Hotel. The mall its self like most mall in Indonesia, huge but it was almost close hour, food court had nothing to serve. Finally we walked out the mall and find local restaurant or street café.
Fortunately we found a small local street café that provide coto. Know what, the taste is good, delicious. I was regret never try this food, some café offer this food and close to my home.
Back to the hotel and talk a short conversation and went to sleep it was 10 pm. In the hotel room I was surprised by 3 pillows. The hotel provides 3 pillows, which the 1st/could be the last I found room with 3 pillows. I try to turn on my phone cell radio to gather what is popular in Makasar, music, news etc. I found 25 radio stations with this gadget.
It was a good sleep. We had our breakfast and head of the cement plant by a Taxi. The taxi driver did not know this plant so he tried to ask people by street. We did not lose and reached the plant at 8.45 am. Finally we find the friend (Mr. A)of my friend (currently he is in Malaysia).
The microscopy presentation began at 10.30 am. The powerful of microscopy and advantages/disadvantages, equipments required for each preparation methods, simple interpretation, and kiln process adjustments. Some question arose during this presentation such; targets for meal and clinker, kiln adjustment, meal assessment etc.
The equipment presentation began after lunch; basically the supplier suggested having a Discoplan TS or Rotopol. He also described the advantages for both equipments. Mr. A said that the management already agreed to implement microscopy within this year (2008).
During equipment presentation some question regarding bought microscope was arose and we found that the microscope is not suitable for neither reflected nor transmitted light (metallurgy, mineralogy). It is recommended to buy a Nikon or Leica mineralogy/metallurgy microscope meets clinker investigation requirements and also not to be hesitate to ask me about this (since it is very expensive).
After 4 hours presentation and discussion we had back to air port by Mr. A’s car. The driver dropped us at front of the air port and be continue to buy some souvenir in Losari at Somba Opu street, having some local sea food (baronang fish with rica-rica seasoning), it was delicious (please try if you visit this city).
The flight was postponed for 1 hour but I was convenient flight with the same plane and attendants.

Trip to South Sulawesi

A friend of my friend work at other island had email me willing help to support on microscopy equipment.
My respond was general and minimum equipment he must to have.
Several times in Ramadan last year Oct 07 one of microscopy preparation supplier offered me to visit him. I prepared some presentation.
In jan 08 we have opportunity to realize this inquiry.
Here is the story begins:
I prepare 2 on leave days. I leave my house to airport bus shelter 3 hours before the flight; unfortunately the bus was not available due to traffic. At last I arrived at airport by rent car just for 45 minute! Instead 2 hours by bus, too early and I have to wait for 2 hours. What should I do? First make a pray, after that I started to talk to other passengers. 1st a couple from Lampung that the flight delayed for 12 hours (6x times longer than me) to Jayapura Papua, 2nd a couple with the same destination, husband work for the forest department in west Sulawesi and boarding ahead of me.
Finally the supplier guy showed up. After boarding we enter the lounge. He talked about his experience visiting Denmark, Germany, Japan, Singapore, China and some other country. As a sum European people welcome him than Asian or Oz.
The boarding announcement stopped our conversation. We took 34 seat in this plane new Boeing 900ER, it was 4 pm a few minutes late. During the flight we talked about tomorrow’s planning, it was a smooth and stable plane. We arrived at Hasanudin at 8pm. Find taxi, surprisingly no offering crowd and the Rp 80k fare clearly state on the desk for certain destination in the city of Makasar, by the way the distance was 30 km from airport to the hotel. While we were sitting in the cab we talked to the cab driver about current situation in the city, it was important since few days before we arrived some demonstration (strike) to the governor election result.
