http vs https for email in office

It is common in many office to isolate(blocked) the http access (port 80) on company LAN to browse the internet, but for https (secure port 443) is allowed, hence we can browse some websites that use/provide this secure port.

Some websites that provide this port 443 are  www.citibank.co.id, mail.google.com, www.paypal.com, www.blogger.com and many others.
Here is the application on gmail;
1. just make a trial by typing on IE (or whatever your browser) 'http://mail.google.com'
2. if return an error saying prohibited by network administrator, you may see the address back to 'http://mail.google.com/mail...'!.  don't give! just add an 's'. Hence the address is 'https://mail.google.com/mail...' and press the "Enter' button, type your username and password and click log in button on the page.
3. if still resulting an error with different address just add the 's' letter and press 'Enter'
4. Enjoy your gmail.

Yahoo mail provide this https you may try on this mail on isolated http LAN.
